tree flowers

late this afternoon, i wandered to the woods with camera in hand. the forest floor is still covered with the browns and grays of winter but tiny shoots of verdant green have begun poking through the remains of last year's leaves. and everywhere i walked i saw the vibrant pink of these tiny flowers, the spent precursor to the emerging leaves on the red maple trees, high above my head.

Yesterday afternoon, I, too, found myself wandering the woods with my fellow companion, my little dog,a Westie. Early spring. Who would not love being out in nature. I just began following your blog today. What a special place to visit. I'm new at this blogging thing. You do such a beautiful job! Love to read it and see your photos!

love this writing, I too I am trying to find the beauty in everyday things... only I live in a really urban setting and my disposition maybe not as sunny as yours!

The dogwood tree in my front yard is brilliant this year more so than any year I remember. We have had a lot of rain during the winter. Dogwoods must need more water to look so good. Spring is my favorite time of year.

Here in urban London we don't have any red maples but after a long cold winter spring is finally here!

My photography and my writing is all about re-finding the extraordinary that we adults compress into "normalcy" simply because it is common.

Wonderful blog! Nothing cheesy about it! A great spirit and I find plants I didn't plant too!
Such a glorious surprize!

Where I live, the summer monsoons have arrived and the heat is killer, at times literally. But the best part is that the flowers are blooming, and mango season is around the corner, yay!
I really love your blog;your eye for detail is amazing. Im trying to become as observant as you.

Lovely picture. I was out today with my youngest son who was doing yard work for us. It was perfect. I'll be leaving for Yellowstone in a few days so I am happy to experience the spring since I will be back into cold weather and snow there.
