So true; but for the fern it comes naturally.

Perhaps, like the fern, you should not try so hard but just go with the flow and then unwind as nature intended. Beautiful picture.

It may be easier said that done but look at the result when the fern unfurls. It is beautiful and so are we.

Hello, I think your pictures are so great, and all of them sort of represent my idea of what it must be like living in New England. It is like you're living in a Robert Frost poem. And you are a writer also? Amazing! Anyways, not to get to philosophical on you, but if unwinding involves making an effort to disclose yourself from what you like to do, it's not really unwinding, is it? So don't worry about it, just enjoy yourself!

ever eat fiddle head ferns? Ken picks the first of the season from the banks of the little stream down below our yard. So delicious...

Hi. This is my first time on your blog and I like it. Nice pics and nice writing. Yours is one of only a few blogs I've found that are truly enjoyable to read. I see by the number of followers you have that lots of other people feel the same. Well done.

May your vacation be a restful one!

If you need to unwind, try going for one of your nature walks without the camera. After all, your blog can be considered a form of work, and who wants to work while unwinding? =D

Reminds me of Anais Nin - And then the pain it took to remain tight in a bud was more than the pain it took to blossom.

SERENDIPITOUS - the word truly is in itself SERENDIPITOUS and so are your post - they relate to your title. Like it.

And you are so tru about the difficulties of unwinding and equally rewarding are the outcomes of it once achieved.

Your talk seems genuine- you indeed do experience it- SERENDIPITOUS.

Thats really cool. I don't know anything about cameras, my wife loves photography, but we're a little archaic when it comes to the new stuff. Any suggestions on a camera that won't really drill a hole through our wallets?

i have a sony cybershot point & shoot. this is my third one. i carry it with me everywhere so some of my pictures on the blog come from that. it's a pretty nifty little camera for under $200. :-)

Did you know that the fern you had displayed is an eatable plant. My extended family and I use to pick ferns located in New Zealand. Furthermore; we had to eat the cooked ferns for dinner. The ferns taste discusting but its a sorce of food.

I saw fiddlehead ferns on one of my hikes and thought of this post! I would have never noticed had it not been of your post!
