juliet & marty45: i am excited this one's in bloom because i have had so many failed christmas cactuses! i bought this one at an old lady's yard sale a few years back. i neglect it like she told me to. so i give the credit for a healthy plant to her.
We are trying so hard to keep a very dear passed down to us from family, no longer with us alive! We have used allot of tricks we'v learned, but it was left in the dark for so long this year, I'm panicking! What if it dosen't bloom at all and just dies on us! We have it in a window now were it gets all the light it needs. Wish us luck, kay!?
I have one that blooms around Thanksgiving and one that is blooming now. They do like dry soil in the winter and are supposed to bloom when the days are short. My husbands grandma had a huge beautiful plant that bloomed every year and it was in a south window. Love your pictures!

They do like to be neglected! I stop watering mine in winter, and voila, tons of hot pink flowers!
Well my wife says I over water plants. Must admit I cut back but didn't stop watering. Will need to remember that advice Thanks
