April
Comes like an idiot, babbling and strewing flowers.
edna st. vincent millay was born in maine. she should have known better than to write lines as misleading as these. flowers indeed. by the end of this all-day snowstorm, that babbling idiot may well be me.

This is me smiling and telling you it IS spring somewhere today.
thanks, tabor. i needed that. :-)
It does look very pretty on the photo, even though it is cold and tedious. I'm sorry it is lasting so long. I hope you will have flowers in April yet.
Ahh but what a beautiful picture that you've got out of it :)
How serendipitous! I forced myself to take a walk, today...lugging along the camera is almost the only thing that gets me out of the house without errands, or work, on the schedule, and I took more pictures with you in mind. (I know I've said this a few times by now. Don't worry, I'm not creepy! The blogs I follow help sharpen my consciousness to see things that otherwise I might have missed. Your blog helps me notice nature in my urban environment, such as the little teentsy daisies that I love so much, the little teentsy blue flowers I've snapped and blogged about before--what ARE they called?, and a perennial favorite, dandelions, mostly yellow, but even one fully exploded, today.)
Funny--if you took that photo in November, you would have been thrilled to see the snow. It's all in the perspective, isn't it? The first snow of the year vs. (hopefully) the last.
Is never ceases to amaze me how we can all talk to each other from all over the world, while simultaneously experiencing such different things!
In my corner of England, we've been having such unseasonally warm weather that Spring has arrived almost a month early. I bet it doen't last though!
That's a gorgeous shot... but somehow knowing it's from NOW instead of 2 months ago takes away from that.
I won't tell you what my April looks like so as not to depress you... but let's just say it's VERY different! I'm heading out to look for cherry blossoms tomorrow...
Keep warm!
As a fellow-victim of yesterday's Maine storm, I love this photo. And I think Edna was right.... but this is the babbling part..... the strewing flowers doesn't come till the end of the month! :-)
Thanks for the great photo as always

Hey there!
So wherever you are at, April welcomes you with the snow! I am sure that will never happen where I'm at.
I live in a tropical country. Where April marks the REAL beginning of summer.
Mimsie is right - that picture would have thrilled me in november. but the truth is, it thrilled a bit me when i took it on friday, too. snow makes everything so beautiful, so peaceful looking, particularly in the early morning when the light is still grey. Anne, CrazyCris, and HalfCrazy, i too am in awe of the fact that we're all experiencing such different weather all at the same time of year. looking forward to flowers this month! you will all be the first to know when i find them!
