frozen mud clumps, aka frud?

finally a day arrives with temperatures above freezing so i can take the car for a much needed wash. but alas, even with pressurized hot water and an under carriage wash, i am still left with remnants of all four of these snow/mud things stuck between my tires and my mud flaps. they arrive with the first snow and stay for the entire winter. no amount of kicking or banging will loosen them and toes have been injured trying. they are so present and such a nuisance that these frozen clumps really ought to have a name of their own. suggestions, anyone?

I like FRUD, not actual frud, but calling it frud! Many toes have been hurt this winter around the world. lol

Tabor, i checked comments without my glasses and accidentally deleted yours. so sorry...if you repost, i'll add it - if not, it's comforting to know that others have this same problem with frud...

Frud! I LIKE it! That stuff is now almost like a permanent fixture behind my front wheels.

That's the yuckiness I get all over my boot and pantleg when I try and kick it off!

Do you find it makes a noise when you turn the wheels? We wonder, what is that awful sound, and realize it is the "frud" hitting the tires. Clever term for it!

I hate the built-up salt residue on my black vehicle even more than Frud. :(

I think I would dub the frozen mud, FRUNK. Frozen + Gunk. I actually enjoy putting on some hard-toed boots and kicking it off the fenders. It's such a satisfaction when it finally gives way. I think I've been living up here too long if that is how I entertain myself.

I suggest "fromumps"--a mix of all 3 words. :)
