no birds, no mice

this winter, in an effort to keep down the mouse population inside this old house, i have not been feeding the birds from the lilac tree outside. rodent-wise, my plan is working (i think). but i sure do miss seeing winter birds right outside my door. after years of being entertained by nuthatches, woodpeckers, and blue jays, i have seen nary a chickadee, all winter long.

I would miss them too. What about mouse poison so you could have the birds? I know......I know.....
But if I had to choose I would do whatever it took to keep the birds!

I would have to get a cat to keep the mice in check in the house ... and still feed the birds outside.

We feed the birds, but farther from the house. We had infestations of a small sort on cold winters, but the last two mild winters have kept us mice free.
