soooo close

tonight i went to a dinner meeting for a local association. at the end of the evening, there was a raffle for a brand new iPad. the winning number was 9768826! not only did i lose by one number, it was the final number. the winner - my tablemate and good friend eric, who works with iPad-using students for a living. where's the justice, i ask you?

on a related note, in another raffle i did win something, just yesterday. it's a $25 gift certificate for the home heating oil - but i burn wood and gas.

literally, i can't win.

That's so sad. There's much irony in life, isn't there? I hope you have a wicked sense of humor and that you win something really good the next time.

oh, sooo close! I never win anything either. Well, maybe once. But it was a Clash of the Titans hoodie and I gave it to my son. I was so excited that i won something, I think i actually blogged about it. lol. Congrats to your friend on winning the Ipad. Pretty cool give-away! :)

Stacey Lee: by the time they read the fifth letter, i was quite sure the prize was mine. so it was an immediate letdown when the last number was not on my ticket. that said, i'm happy for eric. he's a deserving kind of guy.
Nora and keila : i once won a turkey and a gift basket of candles. but that's about it.
~she~: first off, i love your blog!! great format and pictures! i thank you for your kind words and for the award. but to pass it on would take more time than i can give right now. i was hoping no one would notice but i've been so busy this month that i've had difficulty carving out time for photography and blogging! do you want to rescind the award and give it to someone else? I'm so flattered - and do hope you understand.

What a sinking feeling you must have had when you got all the way to that last digit -- those psychic arms outstretched and ready to receive, and ... ahhh, shucks! So sorry.
RE: having time for your blog. It's interesting how life moves in cycles. Hard to see one's focus drifting elsewhere when you are an artist. And you most certainly are. I have the sense that your focus will return before you know it and most likely out of the pure blue.
