the full september moon, risen just after dusk. the harvest moon, it was called, since its radiance gave farmers extended hours of light to harvest their crops at the end of the growing season.
moonlight floods the yard hours later as i type this. i swear i could see from my window anything that happened to be out there.
since it was dark from photography standards, this was a long exposure. and serendipity prevailed as a car happened to pass by while the shutter was open.

this is so beautiful! i love long exposures.
Beautiful. Tell me, though, did the car go from left-to-right, or vice-versa?
It certainly made for an interesting photo.
This is a stunning photo, Chris - well done!
Mad Woman from Oz....
Today is Mid-Autumn Festival in the Chinese Calendar. http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Mid-Autumn_Festival
You should look it up, I know you will enjoy the story!
kara lynn: i don't often do them. maybe because i overplan them. this one just happened.
"effervescencia": the car was traveling right to left, headed towards me. after i shot it, i actually waited for a car to go the other way, to catch the red tail lights, but it never happened.
Nora and SoulDragon: i thought so too - thanks for noticing!
madamebutterfly: that sounds so interesting! i love facts like that! i'll be sure to check it out later in my day. thanks!
