late summer note to self

next year, buy established morning glory plants and forget the frugal notion of starting them from seed. however easy they are to grow, it's just not worth it to have to wait until september for the first flower to appear. even if the lovely blue is better late than never.

How funny. I agree with you, no more seeds. Mine don't work here in Holland, either. Only pots.

I stopped buying flower seeds years ago for that very reason - I'm far too impatient to wait!

What a beauty. No wonder they are called morning "glories". I have a hard enough time with plants already growing. Never have been able to grow something from a seed. That's for the fall beauty. Next year, they'll be more established. :-)

I find that most vines are this way...hyacinth bean, moon flower, etc.

I hear ya
way to long to wait for heavenly blue
and the rabbits ate mine this year before blooming

I have the opposite problem. I planted Grandpa Ott's Morning Glory seeds (heirloom) a couple of years ago under our arbor and now the vines are EVERYWHERE! Maybe pulling them has had the opposite effect?

Sounds like a good idea. Sometimes the waiting does take too long and we can't enjoy the flowers for a very long time.
