weekend away

a lovely summer weekend spent with family at the beach just across the harbor from the city of boston. the lighthouse above is boston light, originally lit with candles in the 1700s when it was built and now powered by a windmill! below, the most unusual weathervane i saw while i was there. isn't she beautiful?

patti: the movie "shutter island" was filmed on one of the boston harbor islands called peddocks island. sounds like a fascinating place - but this island pictured isn't that one.

I love New England and was so smitten with Boston when I visited there years ago. Can't wait to go again one day. Beautiful pics!

I've been to Boston once, but didn't see any of the outlying areas. It seems I missed something. I would love to go there again.
