back to school

it's the last day of summer vacation. even the sky weeps. but secretly, i am filled with a sense of excitement and anticipation at the thought of a new year. this has happened to me every year since i was in first grade. wouldn't you think it would be old hat by now?

When you are no longer filled with that excitement then it's time to stop....

Funny how the begining of school does different things for different people. It always fills me with dread and a little sadness. Cold is coming... :(

september has always represented a time of change and new beginnings for me--regardles of whether I am attending school-I have another two weeks before I am in the mode but I feel it in the air--time to sharpen those pencils and get back in the groove--enjoy your last day and the coming new days of school even more--make it a great year! We don't really get old. Bodies, yes. The way we think, not really.

You probably have sympathetic enthusiasm for those who start the new school year. Maybe you should buy some new pens and pencils and a new notebook to keep a diary in.

I'm the same way! I buy new pens and a few pretty notebooks every fall, even though I haven't been in school in any form for 10 years, and my son is too young for school. I simply love the season, and the palpable anticipation in the air. It's magical.

I usually feel that way, too, but this year, I just didn't want summer to end. I'm having a bit of a hard time getting back into the groove... but I will, eventually.
