march conundrum

it's close to the end of march. here crocus bloom, daffodils bud, and some brave teens already wear flip-flops. but not so far away, high in the nearby hills, i find ice still on lakes. i know which scenario i personally like. but i can't help but wonder which of these is the right one for this time of year.

I love your random postings, observations :)
I too am glad to see the daffodils and crocuses peep from the cold earth, its a late spring for us here in the UK and I think apart from the odd small 'mountain' we have littered about all our snow and ice has gone.....

I think it's right in between the ice and the flip flops. That says spring to me.

In like a lion - out like a lamb. And all kinds of surprises in between. I'm hoping for some thunder-snow myself.

(: they both are. the young are always fighting back the last remaining fingers of hold that the past is wise enough to grasp. isn't that the march conundrum in another manifestation? ... sigh ... the conflicting forces of creation renewing itself ... every. where. we. look. praise be. aj :) please keep thinking. observing. blogging. peace. aj :)

I love how the weather was warm and delicious forever and then it suddenly got all cold again. It's like Mother Nature was playing a prank on us... :(

That shot is beautiful, btdubs.

It's been a strange year here in Texas for spring. Normally we have a brief period of perfect weather in the 70's, then it sky rockets to the high 90's, but we actually had SNOW, in MARCH! =D

It's nice to see nature rolling by at spring time at your part. This part we are experiencing rain & thunder shower since last 46 hours. A cosy weekend and end of March in-spite here in Asom, India, we are eagerly waiting for our Asomia new year from mid April and a month-long Spring festival 'Bohag Bihu'to rejoice the gift of nature.

The biggest dilemna is what to dress my kids in. Rubber boots and rain coats? Rubber boots and winter coat? Winter boots and rain coat?

That's so true to the Northeast. We get crazy cold weather one day and 75 degrees the next. But that's why I love it here!

I find your postings very comforting. You transport me to your part of the country. I'm in Charleston, S.C. and at times I miss the snow, cold, and the beauty of a bare tree.

That is so true... I can't believe how many people wear flip flops in the winter, to be honest though I think a lot of them just wear flip flops for style because they always look cold. Where I live though it actually hasn't snowed this winter and it's been pretty warm, usually it's cold... I really wished it snowed. :(

I can't wait for my daffodils to bloom, they're sprouting now. But, at the same time we are wearing short sleeves one day and sweatshirts the next. Confusing to say the least!
