pancake tuesday

a snow day keeps me at home today, the day before lent begins, so i can indulge before fasting and abstaining begins tomorrow. pancake tuesday, today called in some locales, and i think about them, actually gather ingredients to make them. but in the end, it seems too big a splurge. i settle for blueberries in cereal. pancakes will have to wait until after easter.

Pancakes are a HUGE hit our home and I make them in large batches to freeze whatever is not inhaled by my growing children. Love your blog... and pictures!!

I like pancakes too! I have given up bread products before for Lent. This season I will work on my vocabulary and eliminate some things I don't find pleasing when they come out of my mouth.

I always have to wait for my husband to make the pancakes. It always seems like too much for me, but he whips them up in no time. Now I'm craving blueberry pancakes... :)

Funny thing is that Tuesday my husband made pancakes for our breakfast. Very yummy. He is the best breakfast maker around here.

i love pancakes mostly when family or friends are here to share. and especially the "real" kind, with flour, baking powder, sugar, milk, egg. apparently pancakes are thought of as feast-worthy foods in some places and are eaten on tuesday one last time before the weeks of fasting and abstaining that are associated with lent. we will perhaps have them again though, and soon - they are one of the little girl's favorite recipes to help make!

Blueberries in cereal has remained my faithful breakfast for three years now. Pancakes are wonderful, too. I'm currently searching for a great vegan pancake recipe, involving pumpkin..
