this sunny saturday afternoon spent playing in the snowy yard with the little girl. here's our snowman, complete with carrot nose, pine cone buttons, and red scarf. all placed under the direction of the little girl, who hugged him briefly upon completion, then moseyed off in search of even more embellishments.

What a wonderfully made snowman!!! I'm sure many happy memories where made making it!
Very Cool! Am leaving for Texas for awhile and will miss another "snow storm" which you will probably get in about 2-3 days. I love snow and the snowman is very handsome.
i love your snowman :)
Great photo....and Love the snowman!
Chris - your photographs are lovely and I love your blog. I look forward to following you.
Love your snowman - particularly his twiggy arms! Little Girl obviously has the creative gene! He's lovely.
ooohh!! this is so cute!!!
You are quite the photo taker :)
the little girl must have had so much fun making that snowman :)
Definitely a precious moment. I'm almost thirty years old and made my first snowman this year with my daughter in-law. Unfortunately we were so involve creating the snowman that we forgot to take pictures :( When ever I see a snowman, these wonderful memories comes up. Your little girl is going to remember these moments and share with others when she gets older. Sending warm hugs. Autumn

Hi Chris
I have just read through your blog and love it. Of course our seasons are the opposite, so we are still in summer. Snow is a wonder to me as I come from Queensland in the north where we don't have any snow. I love your squirrels and chipmunks.
cheers
Kerry from Australia
Am jealous of your snow, here in mostly sunny Southern California. Thanks for sharing your winter. Love your blog.

Chris,
This web log feels like home.
Thank you.
Heyy I just wanted to tell you I love your blog and think you take amazing and unique photos!
i love the branch with the glove...and the buttons running across--makes it easier to get the garment over that big head! clearly, the little girl is an independent thinker...
Hullo Chris,
I love the exhuberance of the snowman in the photo. Nice to see a truly happy snowman.
I once worked as a forensic pathologist on mass murders in eastern Europe and was called to investigate the mass grave of 1,000 snowmen. You can imagine how pleased I was to find that it was only a field of carrots.......
Erm, sorry - bad joke.
Regards....Al.
I think that's actually a very artistic snowman.
This picture made me so happy even though I have gotten tired of all this snow around NJ :)
in line with happy things...Check out my blog as well! everyday, I post something that I saw that makes people happy.

wow i just love your photo's there so clear and do speak 1000 words. I was just wondering are you a professionally photographer or do you have a really good camera and an eye for detail?
Cool snow man! i haven't ever really succeeded in making one! =)
This is such a cool picture, esspecially as I am sitting in Cape Town South Africa and the last few deays has been boiling hot......
three days later, the snowman is looking poorly after more snow, thaw, and now wind. i'm trying to figure out how to explain the change to the little girl.
Cathy, Elfie, The Wife of a Dairyman ~ Nancy, Hamrash A, RMb, Isabellandtheworld, Autumn Ray Creation's, TataJane, Brenda Grolle, Madzi: i had not made a snowman in decades. it was such fun! i'm feeling pretty protective of it (him?) now, though. today i was out in the storm replacing his carrot nose, hoping no one would go by and see me working on it - without a child in sight!
Heavens2Betsy & susan t. landry: the little girl is indeed a creative soul, as was her mother before her. we need to work on her imagination, though. while we were making the snowman, i addressed him personally and she quite firmly told me that snowmen can't talk!
Ann in Seattle, Alessandra, Susan, Angie, :), adriskates2: thank you for your kind words. it's been an amazing few weeks, blog-wise!
middle child: we got your snowstorm right on time today. good forecasting!
Alison, Kerry, & Mic Brand: so odd to me to think that someone somewhere is experiencing summer heat while outside here the wind is howling and blowing snow around! thanks for commenting!
Alistair: i am absolutly going to use that joke! thanks for the laugh! :-)
Black Serenity: photography is a passion, but a hobby only. i take tons of pictures to get one or two good ones. i think a lot of it is sheer luck. i have two cameras, a DSL that i love and an old beat up point&shoot that i carry with me everywhere.
Corey Lambert: not sure how you meant that comment but it really touched my heart. thank you truly.
This picture made me smile! Oh, how I wish a blast of snow would make it's way to the south.
I found your blog listed on Blogs of Note...what a creative site!
