cookies!

when i learned to make them, the only way you could get toll house cookies was by creaming the butter & sugar in a big bowl, stirring in the eggs & vanilla, then mixing in the flour and baking soda and finally, folding in the chocolate chips. but now look: cookie dough all prepared and available in tubes for slicing, tubs for scooping, and arrays for  breaking off perfect portions. then why am i still creaming and stirring and mixing and folding, just as i always have?

I think that homemade always taste better. I've just started to get into cooking and I find that when I make something from scratch, its just more satisfying then if it had just come out of a box.

Because they're different. Better. Add pecans. Take out of oven just a bit early and they will stay soft. Besides, I have discovered that often times, when I go into the freezer, the dough is half eaten. So yeah,...I need to go bake something now. Yum.

Because it is more rewarding to do the work, and it has to taste better. :)

It must be because yours taste better.

Homemade is always better! :) No preservatives, additives and no e-numbers or ingredients that you can't pronounce the chemical name of!

I don't know what the food standards are in the US, but I know that certain American food products are illegal in England and Europe because the European Union classifies their ingredients as toxic and hazardous to health. ...homemade is definitely way better than that!

Aren't homemade cookies always more tasty? There are no preservatives, for one thing. And does the premade cookie mix use real butter? I don't know, since I've never used it. Didn't the original Toll House Cookie recipe call for one teaspoon of water? I always wondered if that was necessary. Making Whoopie Pies today from scratch. Yummmmmm......

Because no matter what they ALWAYS taste better from scratch and you can say "I made these".

still doing it the hard way? because 1. tastes better, 2. putting obstacles in the way of doing art, or taxes,3. glutton for punishment,4.some Freudian hangup about Mom always did it this way,5. store bought is terrible in many ways..as in packaging, carbon footprint, cost,preservatives,6. vanilla smells great..quit huffing that!,7. eggs and flour been sitting around too long..better use them,8.selling your house and trying to make it smell better so the buyers don't look for the cat box,9. you want to add nuts to the dough so Hubby won't go near the cookies,10. cause you want to.

Why change what has always worked so well for you anyway. Usually we still mix ours too, it's only if we feel like being more lazy and not doing things the right way that we get the premade dough's. Mixing it up always tastes so much better, then that who really knows what all is in it other stuff anyway, really.

Because there's so much satisfaction from doing everything from scratch. The scent of butter, eggs and sugar coming up from the mixer is a big part of the fun process. ;)
