c is for comfort

for lots of reasons that seem much less important tonight, today was not my best day. and here is the homemade cookie (minus the bite) with which my friend nancy surprised me this afternoon. it was a small offering but it made me smile and feel better and was one of the nicest things that happened to me all day. it was the kind of simple gesture that makes me want to pay it forward.

Where's the cookie "sans bite"? This one does have a bite. Oh, what a nice thing for your friend to do. I'm in need of a "C for comfort," too, but I think I'm going to have to make my own cookies. None of my otherwise very supportive girlfriends bake, oh the horrors!

It's always the small things in life that make a big difference. Good on Nancy :)

Just have to add that, as I'm typing this, around the doorway came my Husband's hand - surprising me with an ice cream cone. Yep, the little things in life indeed ....

Thanks for reminding us how important simple acts of kindness can be- an how a picture of a seemingly common object can conjure up such warm thoughts.

What a lovely "Just Because"

Why is it that a bad day just cries out for molasses or chocolate chip therapy? Whatever made the day difficult... I hope it has disappeared as fast as I suspect the gifted cookie did! Better day tomorrow...
