must political signs be this big? do politicians think i can't see them littering the lanscape so they just made them larger? do they honestly think that, after weeks and weeks of looking at roadways lined for miles with standard size vote-for-me signs, i'll think about voting for the candidate whose sign is the most detracting from the natural environment, the biggest eyesore? with this election, i'm noticing more and more of these oversized signs. i'm not impressed and i'll sure be glad to see them gone. ten more days til the new england countryside reverts to natural.
that said, don't forget to vote on november 2nd - oh wait, how could you forget? the signs reminding you are everywhere!

I totally agree! Those signs really get on my nerves. They are everywhere and they don't sway anyone.
I couldn't agree more. But let me say that you guys are still lucky. Look at what the politicians did to our country during last year's elections. They littered our streets with campaign paraphernalia, and the citizens could only watch and weep.

supermac: thanks for so eloquently putting things into perspective for me. our political display is nothing compared to yours.
Well said! They're driving me crazy too, but not as crazy as the invasive phone calls I get several times a day!
In the Netherlands political parties are confined to display their posters to a few assigned billboards. They are not allowed to just put them anywhere. It's a better system I think.
Nora: your country's plan sounds controlled and civilized. i wish we had something like that here.
~she~: you're right! the invasive calls are the worst - especially after 8pm and on sunday!!
I live in NH too, so I'm seeing the same signs...
The other day we saw one that was absolutely huge. My comment was - "Unless Stephen actually lives there, this sign is over the line."
Chris, I'm so glad I'm not the only person who gets bothered by the signs. Wrote a rant about this myself last month when they first started popping out:

Only one more week and they should all be disappearing--emphasis on the word "should."
If they had nice and creative ones at least.
