robins in winter
just ahead of the grey sky and the predicted snow flurries, robins come to the holly. it seems they are early this year, and there are dozens of them, all swooping in together, then scattering off to the maple, only to return for more berries. at this rate, they'll be none left for them for the rest of the winter. perhaps they know something that i don't.

What a beautiful picture! It's cold here in Texas - in the teens tonight! We fill our bird feeders every other day or so. I think they appreciate it!
Robins already? Here in Edinburgh we are battered by storms and snow flurries still!
Udita Banerjee, that's the disturbing thing - we still have storms and snow flurries here in New Hampshire, too - with probably two more months of winter left!
Linda, I have heard about your Texas cold! It must be shocking! Keep feeding those birds!
I hope we don't see any robins early :( It was always our contest as young kids to spot the first robin and the arrival of spring....
