wee beastie II

this fascinating specimen was found on my way out the door, crawling purposefully along the edge of a violet leaf. the magnified gaze of the new macro lens displays not only the head section of this spiky caterpillar, but also what looks to be a tiny face. can you see it?

that new lens is amazing! and, of course, it takes just the right photographer......

it sure is fun! i am still learning it, though, and am finding it a bit tricky to use on manual settings. the point of focus is so fine that i have a hard time locating it, then have trouble keeping myself still enough to get the shot! a tripod would help - but who has a tripod when you're photographing insects??

I love pictures taken on a macro setting. The simplicity and intricacy of the photos is what makes them truly beautiful.

Plus, who doesn't like watching a new-found, quirky insect?
