extremes

around noontime, i realized it was not only sunny and above freezing, it was actually a bit warm outside. so i went out into the yard in my indoor birkenstocks. i sat for a bit, i took some photos, i enjoyed the sun. when i had to come back inside, i opened the kitchen window and smelled the clean air while i worked and cooked and puttered.
but within an hour, the sky darkened, the wind began to howl, and a snow squall blew in, lasting about thirty minutes. new england really has some crazy weather, but it's one of the things that makes this an interesting place to be!

Our first winter sample is rapidly melting and tomorrow I think it is supposed to reach 50. I am concerned about the dramatic shifts for all of my biological friends.

We have spent the entire afternoon outside cleaning up our gazebo. We are out here still.....
So far only a few freezes for our part of Texas. No snow in sight although they say it is a possibility before winter is over!

We have had a most unusual winter...only a handful of times that snow has stuck to the ground! I'm not complaining though! After our past two winters, I'll take that gray colored grass any time!!!
