the winter sun

this post is more for my reference than for your viewing pleasure, and i hope no one is too disappointed. this is a picture of the sun, taken a few minutes after noontime, when it's at its highest point in the sky. i'm so surprised it's that low and i've never noticed in winters past.

That's actually quite interesting. I love noticing how the darkness/lightness changes throughout the year, how the moon position varies, and where the sun is located.

Lovely photo. It is surprising that it is so low. Just about a week after the shortest day in the year, and we already have about a half an hour more of evening sun, yeah! How about you?

Our sun is covered by rain clouds lately. We don't get to see it much. I do miss it. Yes, it is low in the sky here too. It will soon get better though.

I love it when something as simple as the position of the sun can cause us to stop and "wonder" as innocently as a child as if for the first time. Whether I have noticed and forgotten, the wonder feels fresh as new fallen snow. Great photo!
