billions of buds

just look at the buds on these supermarket christmas cactuses! how can they do that!! my plant is ten times that size and i'm lucky if it gets one blossom every year! i had to fight the urge to buy one of these. i figured the minute i got it into the house, all those buds would fall right off!

I am sure that it has something to do with the the amount of light the plant is getting. Just like mums. But this cactus seems to need 12 hours of dark. Maybe you need to check the light it is getting. Maybe it is not getting 12 hours of intense light? they also need more water than a regular cactus. Good luck.

I can never keep one alive, never mind trying to get buds on it. I would have bought it and watched it slowly die. XOX

A friend who is in her 80s told me she has a Christmas cactus that is 100 years old. It was given to her many years ago by an old lady who received it when she was born!

My cactus plants are blooming as usual this time of the year. They are in a very sunny room which we don't heat. When temps go below 60 degrees, it starts blooming.
