yellows

here is a fine example of the yellows and golds i was going to try to eradicate from my garden. i transplanted some, pulled a lot, gave bunches away, and tried hard to leave the cool pinks and blues and whites i'd loved in the spring. but no - the golds dominate right now and perhaps will for a while. as i sit with a second cup of coffee on the last weekend in july, i better appreciate these colors than i did back in june.

They are beautiful! I love sunflowers and tried to grow some a couple of years ago. They turned out to be gangly and ugly! Enjoy yours! I love the arrangement you made with them.

The yellows give you a full color palette. I know what you mean about one flower taking over. My oranges are dominating now. xo Jenny

I would be happy with any flower that would grow in my garden if I had one. I wouldn't mind which color it was. They would all be welcome.

It does seem as if one color takes over for a while when you have a variety....maybe it`s the different growth and blooming rates of the plants themselves. Right now mine are yellow and pink...huh!

It has been my experience that yellow flowers are the bullies. I have given up the fight.

Thank you for sharing some sunshine on this cold, overcast winter's day in Sydney, Australia!

Oh my what would we do without the golds of August....
I love that they take over...
soon even they are gone
and we then dream of summer all over again
enjoy

I'm thinking of starting a new bed when plants are cheap on clearance. I'm thinking of yellows and oranges. But I'd also like a blue, lavender, and white bed somewhere else!
