long have i waited for the day when i could introduce clay to the little girl. our first session was spent making blue and yellow hot dogs, snowmen, and pancakes. note the rolling technique, pictured. i think she's got it! it was good grammie fun - and thankfully, she never once tried to explore the clay by tasting it!

ReplyDeleteI cannot even begin to tell you how many times I ate play-dough as a kid. I don't anymore, though. It's a little too salty for my taste... ;]

Reminds me of the time we had the two little grandsons with us at a hotel. I'd gotten them little goodie bags and one of the items they each recieved was silly putty, each a different color. Later I found the one glob of putty smashed into the grill of the heater/air conditioner. "Nathan? Who did this?" His reply? "A stranger did it Gramma!"
ReplyDeleteI never had much fun with clays like some children did and my nieces and nephews. I think I liked crayons better. It' was hard to fashion anything out of it except round.

ReplyDeletemy niece is 2 and a half and absolutely loves play dough, unfortunately we've had to hide it as it seems to have left the nursery and is instead smeared all over the rest of the house...but i do love the feel of it :)
