innovation & failure

above: the january full moon is about to rise and i can't find the doohickey that attaches my camera to my tripod. so i fashioned a tripod with what was handy. see my camera at the ready?
below: although last night the full moon was astonishingly huge and clear, tonight it rose in a shroud of cloud. too bad.

  1. Damn... I wish tripods weren't so bloody expensive! I looked into getting a good one this winter so I could try taking up night-time photography as well, but I couldn't find a decent one in my budget-range. Next time!

I've plopped in here like so many others via the Blogs of Note, and from the wandering around I've done in here I'd say it was well awarded, congrats! I'm signing up to follow you as well, I like your serendipitousness... reminds me of my own! so cheers to you and I look forward to reading more of you!

  2. nice attempt to capture that full moon...it was so bright here that I had to look outside to comprehend all the brightness filling the night sky.

  3. When I went to bed last night, I did a double take looking out the window. It was as bright as day out there between the moon and the white snow reflecting it. Gorgeous.

  6. I really enjoyed reading your blog. January was the month I decided to begin blogging and after pulling my hair out for a couple of weeks and COUNTLESS questions on the Blogger help Forum, I put it together. I, too, enjoy photography.....you have some wonderful things. :)

  13. I love your innovation. Grats on starting your grad class as well as making 'blogs of note' Yes, that's why I'm here. The story about the million dollar bill is what made me follow you. Damn sneaky of those little tract dispensers. LOL

  16. thank you all for the kind comments. the moon picture was a little disappointing but i did like the way the trees in the foreground came out!

crazycris: it was pretty easy to make that "tripod!" i have also used tables, dressers, etc in an attempt to keep the camera steady. ever see one of those gorilla tripods? i want one!

willy, janieb, & you other moonwatchers: i remember two years ago the january full moon was spectacular. i went outside in the middle of the night just to be in the moonlight! i've paid close attention to january moonshine since. it has not disappointed!

interestingly unstable: not my first class by a long shot. i'm a perennial student! only taken a few online, tho - and never one as involved as this one! yikes!

    thanks for the visits!
