just recording things that make an impression on me...for whatever reason

colorless days
it's pretty hard to find any natural color these drab november days. here are the last remaining leaves of the rugosa rose bush, muted yellow against the rest of the gray-brown landscape.
i grew up on the coast of southern california .... then when all my children were grown and flew the nest i flew to florida. NOW... moving on to new adventure ... i sold my house and everything in it (except, clothes, computer and a few art supplies) and am now living in SOUTH DAKOTA. How did this semi-tropical end up in the cold north. go figure. so far loving the adventure ... i am told i will tire of the snow. however, will still be traveling a bit as i am still in nomad mode. plan to be in southern california along the coast again from february thru june ... then back to south dakota ... probably. i have never lived in a place with real season except for 2 years in high desert (where we did get snow)... so ... it is a different palette here in the north ...it is all about the color changes, the light changes up here .... so ....
It's indeed hard to find color nowadays, but here's something comforting in browns and grays too.
ReplyDeleteI love your new banner - or has it been there a while and I have only just noticed?
ReplyDeleteAt least you can see its colourless - London is engulfed with thick fog today!
