just recording things that make an impression on me...for whatever reason

nibbled
found while walking on the back hill. i have to wonder who's been gnawing away at this acorn. are the black oil sunflower seeds clustered at the nut's base any sort of hint? they came from the feeders in the lower part of the yard - yards away.
WOW! I like your adventure especially when you found a mysterious thing.. I also love adventures and I hope I can come and join your trips.. God bless!(:
I'm guessing it's a little mouse. What are your thoughts? It's funny you took that picture... Just yesterday, I snapped a picture of one that made it past the winter and spring nibbles and is now rooted itself into the ground.
I'm thinking it's a little chipmunk who just needed a snack! By the way, this is a cool blog...found you through the "Blogs of Note" tab on my blogger dashboard! I look forward to reading more...
Okay, so you love nature as much as I do and wonder.... just a tad off scale, who or what might have left the evidence that you're seeing. I'm interested in seeing what else you may find around your house...
I look forward to reading your posts, they're very refreshing....
even though Matt Conlon is taking the blame, like many of you, i do think this is the work of a squirrel or chipmunk. i found the acorn right at the edge of the woods. i just can't figure out why it was left there out in the open, half eaten. do you suppose i interrupted his meal and he had just scampered off somewhere?? thank you all for your visit and your kind comments.

ReplyDeleteAt first glance I thought this was a photo of a mushroom that had been gnawed at by a squirrel. We get that a lot around here.

ReplyDeleteunusual photo; like it
ReplyDeleteIts funny to think about what was possible nibbling on it. It could have been anything!
ReplyDeleteIt's a squirrel, dude. Or as we say here in this part of the world "skwurrl"
ReplyDeleteWhen I said "dude" in the earlier comment, I really meant "dudette." My apologies for unintentionally trying to change your gender. Sorry!
